Louis Rees-Zammit scores two tries as Bristol defeat champions Northampton
Louis Rees-Zammit crossed the try line twice as Bristol defeated reigning champions Northampton 41-24 in Premiership Rugby action. This marks the first time since 2023 that the Bears have won their opening two matches of the season.
The Welsh winger was denied a third try against Northampton, but there was no question about who commanded the spotlight as Bristol continued their strong season start by overcoming the titleholders. Rees-Zammit scored two tries, earned the Bears' late penalty try, and, to demonstrate there is more than one entertainer in the league, performed his own take on Henry Pollock's pulse celebration.
"I obviously know Pollock has done that before, so I thought I'd just give it a little bit back," said Rees-Zammit. "Me and Pollock are really close. He's doing great things for the sport. If we're going to grow this game we need personalities, he's definitely one and he's got to do something next week after the forfeit we spoke about yesterday."
